GA Macon Mission 

Well here it is!  We wish we could figure out a way to crop it, or zoom in, when they send it to us on e-mail, but so far, not techie enough.  I can't make it go to I-photo, so just have to retrieve it from downloads.  Oh well!  We know we were there, and I'll bet if you look carefully you can find us.  It's a little like Finding Waldo isn't it?

We are waiting to learn if we will loose anyone in our district.  We have an extra Elder here in Milledgeville now,  from the Savannah area.  We don't know if he is just waiting for his new companion, or if he will be staying here, and we will have to say good-bye to one of our good Elders.

Ok!  We have part of the transfer news.  Elder Cherry in the middle is leaving us here in Milledgeville.  Elder Pack, by Doug is leaving Gray.  The Sisters are staying in Gray - Hooray!

Dublin Update

Our sweet 94 year old friend Rose, down in Dublin passed away this week.  Betsy, her daughter, has been trying to get everything together for the services.  We have not been helpful at all, but are planning to at least show up.  The services will be in Macon on Monday and Tuesday mornings.  Because of Labor Day, they have to wait until Tuesday to do the graveside.  Rose was such a regal, witty woman.  We have come to love her and will miss our visits.

Actually, we went down Sunday afternoon, to take our little remembrance offering to Betsy - a yellow rose bush for her garden, in honor of her regal "mama,"  Rose.  Bill was out planting it as we drove off.  We were able to see our other older Dublin friends as well.  We knew we couldn't go tomorrow, and we were sick the week before that.  If we didn't go, it would seem like a long time to these friends who do not have a lot of activities happening in their lives.  As usual it is us who benefits the most.  Have you noticed that each person you love expands the heart, and increases your happiness?  Interesting how that works!

Speaking of older friends, Aunt Bertha Green at 98 years old just sent us another letter today.  We are amazed each time to hear of her escapades, and her news about relatives from Canada etc.  She writes beautiful letters that don't even hint of her advanced years.  This time she sent us a picture too, of her modeling a new gift - a shawl scarf.  Imagine, being so spunky at her age.  She is such a spirited woman.  We really appreciate her thoughtfulness, and her sense of humor.  She has sent us several notes since we have been here to keep us enthused and encouraged.
